At the First City Chess Club, we offer a welcoming environment for all ages to learn, compete, and enjoy chess. Join us for training, tournaments, and community events that foster a love for the game.
We are planning to offer a scholastic chess program to work with K-12 students; this organization is called “First City Knight Academy.”
But our belief is Chess is for everyone. Currently our club makeup is roughly a 1:1 ratio of adults to children.

I created the First City Chess Club because the nearest club is roughly a 45 minute drive away from Leavenworth and several people who share this passion with me expressed a desire for a club in the area. We currently meet in the City of Leavenworth to provide later meeting times and service the greater community to include those who live on Fort Leavenworth as well as the surrounding communities. We aspire to maintain a welcoming atmosphere and the dedication to improve the gameplay of all our members.
